On the morning of September 18, opening ceremony for new arriving students of MIB (master of international business) was held in room 409, the school of economics and business administration (SEBA) of Chongqing University. Liu Xin, associate dean of SEBA, and some teachers attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Hu Xiaorong, secretary of international business affairs and head teacher of international students of SEBA.
At the ceremony, Prof.Liu Xin delivered a sincere and passionate speech. First of all, on behalf of SEBA, he extended a warm welcome to new arriving students. In his speech, Prof.Liu said that Chongqing University is one of the best universities in China. Only less than 1% of the best Chinese students can study in Chongqing University. Please treasure this opportunity of studying and obey the motto of Chongqing University – be hard-working, be thrifty, be diligent and loving the country. He suggested students to go deep into Chinese society, understand Chinese national conditions, make Chinese friends, learn Chinese culture, and required students to strictly obey Chinese legal system, school rules, school discipline, public order and good customs of Chinese society, and strictly abide by teaching order. He hopes that the students will be able to integrate into the study and life of Chongqing University as soon as possible, meet new challenges, find new ideas, find new opportunities and develop together with classmates from all over the world.
Ms.Cheng Ying, on behalf of the teacher of SEBA expressed heartfelt congratulations to new arriving students. Ms.Cheng shared some of her experiences of studying in Germany and described her experience of transforming from an international student to a teacher. During her study, she witnessed the rapid development of China towards internationalization and the increasingly close connection between China and the world.
Iryna nyktiuk, a freshman from Ukraine, made a speech. She got undergraduate degree of Xiamen University. She talked about her hesitation when she was away from her hometown and went to Xiamen to study alone. In the process, she not only learned a lot of Chinese culture, understood the relevant knowledge of Chinese economy and international trade, but also improved her language level and made many Chinese friends. She said that studying in China was the most correct decision she made. Now studying international business in Chongqing University makes iryna nyktiuk realize that business is not only to obtain economic benefits, but also to enhance the responsibility of business people. She hopes to learn more knowledge and skills under the guidance of excellent teachers of SEBA, and apply the theory to practice and contribute to the development of society.
Moses agwuncha, a 2018 student from Nigeria, made a speech on behalf of the enrolled students. He shared his MIB learning experience and make a lot of suggestions to the new students in a humorous way: to cultivate divergent thinking at any time and accept new ideas; to complete the relevant homework of the course on time and accurately; to replace complaint with diligence; to make more friends. He said he would continue to work hard to finish his studies in Chongqing University on time and with excellent grades.
Nusrat yaminov, a 2013 graduate from Uzbekistan, made a speech. He first expressed his gratitude to SEBA for teaching him knowledge, and the teachers and students of MIB for taking care of him and making him meet more friends. To this day, he still clearly remembers every course he studied and teacher in MIB. After graduating from Chongqing University with a master degree of MIB, he returned home and found a good job, but still missing his school life in China, so he went back to Chongqing University and studying for a doctor of business administration. At present, his wife is also became a MIB student of Chongqing University. Their child was also born in China. They hope their child can continue their friendship with China and keep studying in China when he grow up.
The ceremony ended successfully in a warm atmosphere.
